Santa Monica College was placed on lockdown Friday after reports that a suspect fired a gun inside a campus building just before noon.
There are several victims, including the shooter, confirmed Santa Monica police Sgt. Rudy Flores to the Associated Press.
Flores also said that the police fielded several reports of a man on a street corner shooting at vehicles.
A suspect was detained inside the Santa Monica College library, reports the Los Angeles Times, and three victims were shot inside a car on or near campus.
Authorities are trying to determine if there's a second shooter. From the Times:

[California Highway Patrol] officer Vince Ramirez told The Times one suspect is in custody and that officers are trying to determine if there was a second shooter. No details on victims or suspect’s condition.

Student Sam Luster was in the campus library when he heard gunshots, reports ABC7 Los Angeles.
"We didn't know what was happening until all the students at the entrance of the library started running down towards the bottom of the library," Luster said to ABC7 Los Angeles. He took cover before heading to the exit.
